After camping on Phillip Island and eating camp food (albiet Paleo), cooked over the gas burner we decided to splurge on a nice lunch in the Mornington Peninsula before heading home.
The Winey Cow was on the Main Street, and after taking a quick dip in the clear, icey peninsula ocean we went for a bite to eat.
Pendant lamps hanging from the ceiling, wooden slat blinds and a classic colour scheme of white, grey and blue- it was quaint and classic all at once.
I love it when a menu includes freshly squeezed juices. We indulged in a watermelon and mint juice, served in a cute little milk bottle.
Our meals were fresh, presented beautifully and came out quickly. I loved the healthy alternatives to cafe “staples” like chia polenta chips and house made dressings and mayos.
I had the Superfood Sandwhich, sans bun: Free-range chicken, avocado, goji mayo, watercress, kale and almond pesto with chia polenta chips- wow.
And Regan had the Grilled Cow: grilled sirloin, toasted ciabatta roll, Swiss cheese, beetroot relish, pickled onion rings, rocket, mustard mayo with parmesan and thyme rosti.
